Family Faith Formation – Kindergarten - 8th Grade
Promoting and empowering the Family Church!
At St. Thomas More, we believe parents are the first and most important teachers of the faith. Children learn how to live as Christians through the love, prayer, forgiveness, and example they see at home.
Our Family Faith Formation program is designed to support parents as they help their children grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and learn more about the Catholic faith.
PLEASE NOTE
Registration for the 2026-2027 Formation year opens July 1st.
All registrations must be completed by August 31st.
Family Faith Formation in the Home
Family Faith Formation is meant to fit into the natural rhythm of family life. Families are encouraged to pray together, attend Sunday Mass, and use the Gospel Weeklies at home to talk about the Sunday Gospel.
Parents do not need to be experts in the faith. We provide lesson guides, videos, and support to help families feel confident.
Gospel Weeklies
Families receive the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies, a Catholic curriculum based on the Sunday Gospel. Each child receives a grade-level edition with age-appropriate lessons, activities, and reflections that help them learn about Scripture, prayer, the sacraments, and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
The grade-level editions are:
- Promise: Kindergarten and First Grade
- Good News: Second and Third Grade
- Venture: Fourth through Sixth Grade
- Visions: Seventh and Eighth Grade
Monthly Family Gatherings
Each month, families gather as a parish community for Faith, Fun, and Fellowship Nights.
During these gatherings:
- Children gather with their peers for fun, faith-filled activities connected to the liturgical season and the Gospel Weekly lessons being taught at home.
- While children gather in their classes, parents come together for faith formation, meaningful discussion, and fellowship with other St. Thomas More families.
Who Can Register a Child?
Families may register for Faith Formation if they meet one of the following:
- They live within the St. Thomas More parish boundaries: 51st Avenue to 91st Avenue and Bell Road to Lake Pleasant Parkway
- They live outside the parish boundaries but have demonstrated consistent participation in the St. Thomas More parish community through regular Sunday Mass attendance and weekly use of parish envelopes.
Please Note: Only parents or legal guardians may enroll children in Faith Formation, provided eligibility requirements are met.
