What is the Notre Dame H.S. Conference?
By Karen Albers
Each summer, high school students are invited to attend the Notre Dame Vision H.S. Conference for five days in South Bend, IN. Teens from all over the United States as well as other countries attend one of the four-week sessions.
Notre Dame tells students:
You will have a chance to immerse yourself in the spiritually and communally rich environment of the University. You will benefit from some of the best speakers from across campus and across the country whose stories, witness, and humor will challenge you to expand your imagination and deepen your faith”.
Twenty-three high school students from St. Thomas More will be attending this summer.
The TUF (Teens United in Faith) are working on fundraising throughout the year, and their main fundraiser is their play, “Southern Fried Funeral”, which will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018, as well as selling the Arizona Republic each Sunday. With the conference fee, airline tickets, transportation costs from Chicago, and Sunday night hotel/food, the cost is over $1,200 per student.
The first St. Thomas More Car show assisted their trip by providing $3400, the proceeds from their first show.
Please keep our teens in your prayers as they work towards this wonderful opportunity to grow in their faith.April 11, 2018
