The Holy Smoke 20th Anniversary edition – Week 4
On week four of our 20th Anniversary Celebration we highlight the Social Life of the parish. We are a social people, and here at St. Thomas More we have more groups to be affiliated with than that of a small town or village A few examples are; Journey, Young Enthusiastic Seniors, & Keep it Strong. Our young start out in (B.F.F.’s) Best Friends Forever, then (D.J.’s), Disciples of Jesus, and on to (FIRE), Faith Ignites Real Energy and (T.U.F.), Teens United in Faith.
In addition to these groups we enjoy dinners such as the pastor’s pasta dinner and our ever-popular Lenten Fish Fry.
Our talented youth present performances. We have laughed at their entertaining plays, and shed a tear during their annual Good Friday Living Stations of the Cross.
Our St. Thomas More music ministry presents a series of musical performances every year. These musical events socially bring us together to listen, reflect, and enjoy.
There are so many social aspects of the parish that it is impossible to highlight all our parish offers. But the first item that came to mind is what many of us run for after mass on Sundays; the donuts. Our expanded edition of Holy Smoke for this week features the Donut ministry, a story on Teens United in Faith and one on several of the social ministries at St. Thomas More. Read all about these ministries, then review the last three weeks of submissions, as our 20th anniversary edition showcases all that we the parishioners of St. Thomas More are and continue to be.
