From the Editor
Sometimes you come to mass at STM and wonder, who is that priest up there? I haven’t seen him before. Then at the greeting he tells you his name and that he was invited to come and celebrate with us. It is a gift to have different priests with us, and it gives our pastor Fr. Jim a break from having to do several masses in one day. But at the doorway leaving you have little time for conversation and would really like to get to know these servants who offer mass occasionally at our parish.
Starting in this issue and from time-to-time you will see a new column written by Leo Wozniak, one of our dedicated staff writers. This column entitled, “Meet the Priests” does exactly what the title says. Leo will interview one of these occasional celebrants so that you will get to know them a little better.
Also, in this issue we tantalize our taste buds with Deacon Richards Potato Salad. I wish he was giving out free samples, because it’s really good.
Gaby Coons and company developed an excellent video on the Notre Dame, Indiana, Leadership Conference. It is awesome!
And there are many stories of interest for you to read and enjoy.
The dedicated staff members really do a wonderful job. They interview and write articles for each issue. But as times are people have lives and need to move on. So, this is my appeal for new writers to come aboard. Join us for one story, or for a year or more. We would love to have you. You need not be a journalist, just someone who likes to write. Just have a desire to tell about the happenings of St. Thomas More.
In this issue we welcome back those who are traveling or visiting out of the Valley. It will be fall, a most pleasant time to return home, with milder temperatures, times of great harvests, and lovely sunsets. Welcome Home.
Keep the Fires Burning,
Deacon SalAugust 28, 2018
