Volunteer Thank You Dinner at STM
There are over 700 volunteers who help St. Thomas More achieve its goal of sharing in love and living in faith. And each year Fr. Jim Turner our pastor, says thank you to our volunteers by hosting a dinner for those who work so hard to make STM the inviting parish that it is.
The dinner began with drinks and cordial greetings. Then, Father Jim led grace and thanked all for the work they do supporting STM. This volunteer appreciation dinner serves as a small token of the parishes thanks for their support. This year over 300 people attended! The Hall was filled with lots of laughter and fun.
Dinner was self-served table-by-table, with Father calling out the table numbers. Pork loin, dressing, fresh rolls, and green beans completed the entrée. The dessert was cake layered with chocolate and vanilla mousse. Yum!
This delicious dinner was prepared and served by the staff of St. Thomas More. They never seem to run out of time or energy to serve others.
Behind the scenes was Wade McFall who with many duties for the parish also serves as our culinary expert. Wade developed the menu, then cooked and prepared the meal. Our thanks for his labor of love.
To the whole staff who decorated the tables, manned the bar, served in the kitchen, cleaned the tables, manned the serving line and answered every wish, a big thank you for being our staff. This parish could not survive without you.
And always, a huge thank you to all who volunteer! You make the parish the community that it is.June 13, 2018
