Hello Snowbirds and You CCFs
You know who you are. Those who like mild temps all the time. Who seek the north in the spring and west in the winter. The “Snow Birds” who really deplore snow and run from it, and the CCF’s, the “Cool Climate Folks” who head for parts unknown when the thermostat says 100 degrees. Well, we love you all. And since you are not here to share in what’s been happening at STM, we send this issue of Smoke Signals to your online media device, in the hope that you can still be community wherever you are.
In this issue we celebrate the completion of the 16th Habitat for Humanity house built with time, talent and treasure from the volunteers of STM.
If you were a volunteer perhaps you were here to be thanked by Fr. Jim Turner and the staff. If not, you missed a wonderful dinner. Read all about the scrumptious meal at the volunteer thank you dinner.
Who is St. Tekakwitha? She was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on Oct. 21, 2012. Read all about here in this issue.
What is Y.E.S. at St. Thomas More Parish? You might be a member. You only have to be 55 to join. Read all the highlights in this issue.
Finally, everyone knows of the wonderful music at our parish and of the director, Steve Raml. If you were away were very sorry that you were not here to hear the choirs latest spring concert.
As always, the staff of Holy Smoke and Smoke Signals wishes you a safe and joyful summer. If you are traveling be safe. If you are with us here, please take the time to thank our writers for the work they do.
Until the next issue, keep the fire in your heart always burning,
Deacon SalJune 13, 2018
