What is the Youth Ministry at St. Thomas More?
—Kari Beth Paulk, Youth Ministry coordinator
It is part of a larger program called Christian Formation. The Youth Ministry pulls in and serves young people from several middle schools and high schools that touch or fall within the parish boundaries, including charter schools.
The Different Ministries
The Youth Ministry is made up of three different groups of young people:
- Sixth, seventh and eighth graders participate in F.I.R.E. Faith Ignites Real Energy
- Teens in the ninth through twelfth grades are part of t.u.f., or Teens United in Faith.
- Young people after high school and in their twenties and thirties participate in Young Adults.

Goals for F.I.R.E. and t.u.f.
Both F.I.R.E. and t.u.f. strive to live up to the three goals given by the church to its youth ministries:
St. Thomas More nurtures young people through year-round activities and service projects and by guiding them in leadership roles.
St. Thomas More encourages young people to participate in liturgy, the parish ministry and in the parish community.
St. Thomas More strives to develop healthy values and life skills that build physical, intellectual, psychological and spiritual strength of character.
