How do I register my children for Faith Formation classes?
In April returning families register during the Faith Formation session times. When that registration process is complete, registration is held for new families to the program after Sunday Masses for the next school year. Watch the Sunday Bulletin for registration dates and fees. Classes fill up very quickly and placement is based on a first come first served basis. Elementary formation is offered for children in kindergarten through the fifth grade. Due to large enrollment numbers and space limitations, children registered after the initial registration process in April cannot be guaranteed placement.
When do I register my children for Sacraments?
In our diocese children attend one year of formation prior to beginning any sacrament preparation process. Children prepare for First Reconciliation in their second year of formation; which is usually in the second grade or above and Confirmation and First Communion in the third year or in the third grade or above.
Do my children have to attend Faith Formation after they have celebrated their Confirmation and First Communion?
Yes, because each year a new doctrinal topic and/or a deeper perspective is presented to previously learned material. Classes are offered in the elementary process for children in Kindergarten through the fifth grade, the Jr. High sessions (FIRE) is for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, and the High School sessions are for youths grades nine through twelve.
